It houses the world largest sitting Buddha and thousands of donated Buddha statuettes and provides a beautiful view of Thimpu city.

The sightseeing tour to Paro takes us to Paro Dzong and National Museum. The National Museum is the pride of Bhutan and one can witness various ancient arts and acknowledge ancient culture and history of Bhutan. Hike to Tiger Nest Temple is one of the must-go destinations of Paro. The Tiger Nest Temple perched at 900m above the ground provides the panoramic view of mountains of Bhutan

Itinerary

Fly on the wings of Dragon to the international airport in Paro, Bhutan. Upon arrival in Paro, you will be received by the representative of Lapha Holidays by offering welcome scarfs and transferred to Thimpu by private vehicle. You can check in to the hotel and relax. Depending on time, you can visit the weekend market (Thu-Sun) and get the taste of the local market and their products. In the evening we will explore we can walk around the city or visit Tashichho Dzong, which houses the throne room of His Majesty the King.

After breakfast, we will visit handmade paper mills where you can get to buy handmade paper products and visit School of Arts and Crafts (closed on Sundays and government holidays). In this School students are taught 13 different arts that take over 4 years to graduate. En route, we drive pass by Memorial Chorten built-in memory of late 3rd King and visit Buddha viewpoint: the world largest sitting Buddha and proceed to Paro after lunch. In Paro, we can enjoy outdoor activities like wearing Gho/Kira and play archery. We can also visit Paro Dzong and Paro National Museum.

After Breakfast, we proceed to the base of our hiking point to Taktsang Monastery, often called Tiger Nest Temple which is built around a cave in which Guru Rimpoche (also Known as Guru Padmasambhava) meditated. This 8th Century monastery stands on a rock overlooking a sheer drop and clings seemingly impossible to a cliff at 900m above the ground. Tiger Nest Temple is considered to be the must-visit destination of Bhutan. For an average trekker, it takes almost 2 hours however it might take a full day for some depending on their pace. The location and scenery of this Temple are wonderful and very refreshing. At you reach the top, you can fill the joy and happiness never like before. And on the way back, you can run down, it is easy always.
