Kanchenjunga Region

Located in the far east of Nepal and the border with Sikkim, Kanchenjunga region is a remote and least visited trekking region of Nepal named after the third highest mountain in the world, Mt. Kanchenjunga at 8586m. Covering an area of 2035 sq. km, Kanchenjunga region was designated as a conservation area in March 1998. This region trekking offers an infinitive variety of landscapes, diverse cultures, rich bio-diversity and panoramic views of Himalayas.

Trekking to Kanchenjunga region was only permitted recently. Thus, paths are often rough and there are only a few tea houses. Kanchenjunga region trekking can be done in small groups and group should be self-sufficient of staffs and supplies.
