About Kanchejunga Circuit Trek

Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is the trek to one of the remote and most beautiful mountain massifs of Nepal located in the far northeastern corner of Nepal. This trek takes you to the base camp of the world’s third tallest mountain, Mt. Kanchenjunga. This trekking region is a recently open trekking route protected by the Kanchenjunga conservation area since 1998 and ideal for trekkers who enjoys remoteness and solitude passing through diverse landscapes, vegetation and culturally opulent communities and villages.

Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is less popular than Everest and Annapurna trek yet is a truly fascinating trek of Nepal. The trail encompasses Himalayan coniferous forest, alpine shrub, meadows, grasslands, waterfalls, and glaciers and offers an exotic scenic view of Himalayas. With regards to mountains themselves, Kanchenjunga and its satellite peaks form a huge mountain massif. In addition to the main peak of Kanchenjunga, there are three subsidiary summits exceeding 8000m namely Kanchenjunga West, also known as Yalung Kang (8505m), Kanchenjunga Central (8482m), and Kanchenjunga South (8494m) and twenty peaks exceeding 7000m, the highest is Kangbachen (7903m), Jannu (7710m) and many more. As you gain the elevation, you will definitely get amazed by these impressive and dynamic clusters of peaks.

Kanchenjunga Circuit trek start from the flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur combine with 9-hour drive to Taplejung. Our trekking starts from Taplejung and en route you pass through some of the pleasant and remote villages such as Chhirwa, Ghunsa, Oktang and many more. Passing through these disperse village, you get to experience Nepali unique lifestyle and traditions and taste traditional Nepali food.  Ramtang and Oktang monasteries are also the main attraction of this trek where you can learn about ancient Bon and Tibetan religion. You will also be passing through some of the popular glacial lakes includes Zumu, Talung, Rathong, and Yalung glaciers along the trail.
