Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by a representative from Marron Treks and transferred to your designated hotel in the private vehicle. Welcome drinks will be served at the hotel and we will have a short briefing on the necessary formalities and the trekking itineraries. You may then check-in and freshen up in your room. You can spend leisure time walking around the vicinity of your hotel in the evening.

Our trekking guide will come to the hotel at 6:00 in the morning to pick you for an early road trip to Dharapani via Besisahar in our private vehicle. The drive to Besisahar takes about 5-6 hours. It is a scenic drive and you will witness stunning scenery of snow-capped mountains, green hills, rivers, and beautiful villages. Upon reaching Besisahar, we take a jeep to Dharapani. During this 3-4 hours drive, you pass through some amazing villages of Annapurna region such as Nagdi, Bhulbhule, Sange, Chamcha, Tal and finally Dharapani. You can see a wonderful view of Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna and many other majestic mountains.

Today after breakfast, we trek from Dharapani to Gho.

We trek from Gho to Bimthang. It is a pleasant walking day as the trail passes through the sub-tropical jungle and rural villages. There is not a proper place to get meals until Bhimtang. You get to see the herd of sheep, cow, and yaks and enjoy the sound of birds. The trail keeps on through the jungle and ranging river to the Karche (2700m) and walk further cross the bridge get in Yak Kharka. In Yak Kharka, we can have lunch enjoying the Yak herds. After lunch, you get to prepare yourself and the trail gets harder due to step up. Finally, you will get in a tiny valley at Bhimtang about 4 to 5 hours walking.

This is the most awaited day of our trek. Bhimtang is a beautiful place and is surrounded by the White Mountains. Ponkar Lake, Nayamlo Tal, Ponkar Glacier, Kechakyu and Suti glacier are the main attractions of Bhimtang. As the Bhimtang is the key destination of this trek, after having breakfast you will hike around the Bhimtang with personal gear and drinking water. A short hike above the Ponkar lake will take you to the vantage point from where many mountains including Manaslu North (7157m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Larkya Peak (6249m), Himlunhg Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6812m) and many more can be observed. You will also get to see the junction of three glaciers: clockwise the Kechakyu, Suti and Ponkar after about 3km walk from the north of Bhimtang. Thrill to the majesty, silence and glacial power.

After exploring Bhimthang, the next morning we head to Tilje. We descend along the fig tree and rhododendron forest, through the rocky river-bed and sliding hill-sides to several small green villages. After a long and scenic day of trekking, we finally reach the Tilje village. The village is inhabited by Manangis and Chettris. You get to enjoy the unique architecture and culture and eat mix foods – Dal Bhat, buckwheat Dhido, Tsampa, and Tibetan salt-tea.

It’s an easy trekking day following the Dudh Khola through bamboo forests about 1½ to 2 hours walk down to Dharapani. We take a jeep and drive through bumpy road to Besisahar. As we reach Besisahar, you will find our private vehicle which will take us back to Kathmandu and drop you to the designated hotel. After some rest and freshen up in the hotel. In the evening, Marron Treks will host a farewell dinner featuring a range of delicious Nepali cuisines and a cultural program.

A representative from Lapha Holidays Treks will escort you to the airport for your final departure. Have a safe flight back home and we look forward to being your adventure companion in Nepal again.
